Bios Life Clinical Study Results Presented to the American Heart Association

Unicity - The Make Life Better Company News May 5, 2006

Denver, Colorado (April 27-29, 2006) Dr. Peter Verdegem, Unicity Chief Science Officer, presented the results from the first Bios Life clinical study at The American Heart Association’s (AHA) 7th Annual Conference on Arteriosclerosis, Thrombosis and Vascular Biology this April in Denver, Colorado.

Dr. Verdegem was invited by the AHA organizing committee to present the results of the study that was performed earlier this year by Dr. Vincent Duenas, in collaboration with Julie Duenas and Evelyn Burke from the Doctors’ Clinic in Tamuning, Guam.

The AHA was particularly interested in the clinical results that show that Bios Life is a great adjunct therapy to statin medication. It’s known that statin medication, the number one prescribed drug in the world, is not very effective in raising the good cholesterol, HDL. In addition, it’s also becoming more and more evident that raising HDL is just as important as lowering LDL (bad) cholesterol, and could prove to be more important.

Data from the Framingham Heart Study suggests that raising HDL by 10 mg/dl has a similar reduction for the risk of heart disease than lowering LDL by 60 mg/dl.

In the presented Bios Life studies, the HDL was shown to be increased by 26.3% in a group of responding statin users that still had HDL levels below 40 mg/dl at baseline.
