Unicity Adds New Member to Medical Advisory Board

Orem, Utah (May 20, 2005) Unicity International Inc. announced today that David Anthony Newsome, M.D. has been added to the Unicity International Medical Advisory Board. Dr. Newsome, an ophthalmologist and President of the Retinal Institute of Louisiana in New Orleans, is recognized for his research and prolific writing on the subject of vision preservation.

Unicity utilizes the expertise and background of practicing medical professionals to aid in the research, development, and clinical studies of their nutritional products. The Unicity Medical Advisory Board is comprised of 10 practicing healthcare professionals with experience and background as cardiologists, family practice, gynecologists, ophthalmologists, nurses, sports medicine, and dieticians. The medical advisory board together with Unicity scientists, monitor and enable clinical trials and testing in health professional practices, universities, and research organizations.

Dr. Newsome received his medical degree from Columbia University, College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City. He was a Senior Staff Fellow at the National Eye Institute of the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland, and a Fellow in Retinal Diseases at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary in Boston, Massachusetts, and the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, Florida. He has also taught Ophthalmology and conducted research at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Louisiana State University Medical Center School of Medicine, and Tulane University School of Medicine.

Dr. Newsome has published over 150 peer-reviewed papers and has authored one text book. He has pioneered the use of neutraceuticals to help people restore and preserve their vision, particularly in the area of age-related and other vision-robbing eye diseases. He has a broad interest in the beneficial effects of nutrition and exercise on preserving vision as well. Dr. Newsome has been conducting clinical studies on Unicity's VISUtein® eye health product with profound results. He will be publishing his findings in numerous peer-review journals.
