Unicity Raises Funds and Awareness at America's Walk for Diabetes
- Employees raise $3,400 for diabetes research and programs

Salt Lake City, Utah (September 12, 2006) Unicity employees, families, and friends participated in America's Walk for Diabetes on Saturday, September 9, 2006 at This is the Place Heritage Park. $3,400 was raised and presented to the American Diabetes Association (ADA), the nation's leading nonprofit health organization providing diabetes research, information and advocacy.

Following optional 2.5 or 5 mile courses that ended at Utah's Hogle Zoo, tired walkers were greeted with cool glasses of LowOz, for quick rehydration. In addition, Unicity provided samples of Bios Life.

"Unicity is a great company to work with," says Bios Life Franchise Owner Tyler Cope. "This was a great opportunity to raise money for a worthy cause while educating people about one of our tremendous products that helps people who suffer from diabetes."

All donations raised by Unicity employees were matched through the company's Make Life Better Foundation. Unicity was represented at the walk by approximately 48 participants, all wearing t-shirts that stated, "A New Reason to Hope! Bios Life – Clinically proven to maintain healthy blood sugar levels."

Diabetes is currently the fifth leading cause of death by disease and has no cure. In the U.S. alone, more than 18.2 million individuals are affected by the disease, which can lead to heart attacks, kidney disease, blindness and amputations. America's Walk for Diabetes creates awareness while raising much needed funds for research, information and advocacy.
