Unicity Raises Funds and Awareness at America's Walk for Diabetes
- Employees Raise $3500 for Diabetes Research and Programs

Orem, Utah (September 12, 2005) Unicity employees, families, and friends helped "Make Life Better" for thousands of individuals in their local community by participating in America's Walk for Diabetes on Saturday, September 10, at This is the Place Heritage Park. More than $3500 was raised and presented to the American Diabetes Association (ADA), the nation's leading nonprofit health organization providing diabetes research, information and advocacy.

Following optional 2.5, 4 or 5 mile courses that ended at Utah's Hogle Zoo, tired walkers were greeted with cool glasses of LowOz, a low-carb electrolyte drink that many diabetics can consume during exercise for quick rehydration. The company also provided samples of Bios Life2, a natural supplement that improves cardiovascular health and supports healthy blood glucose levels.

"Unicity is a great company to work with," says Associate Armando Contreras, an independent distributor who volunteered at the event. "This was a great opportunity to raise money for a worthy cause while educating people about one of our tremendous products that helps people who suffer from diabetes."

All donations raised by Unicity employees were matched through the company's Make Life Better Foundation. Unicity was represented at the walk by approximately 50 participants, all wearing t-shirts that stated, "We Make Life Better, One Step at a Time."

Diabetes is currently the fifth leading cause of death by disease and has no cure. In the U.S. alone, more than 18.2 million individuals are affected by the disease, which can lead to heart attacks, kidney disease, blindness and amputations.
